Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly emerging as a transformative force in global development, offering innovative solutions to persistent challenges across healthcare, education, agriculture, infrastructure, and governance. AI presents a unique opportunity to accelerate progress through enhanced efficiency, data-driven decision-making, and targeted interventions. This article synthesizes contemporary research on the role of AI in advancing global development, with a particular emphasis on its application and impact within developing countries. It explores the multifaceted implications of AI adoption—including economic potential, ethical considerations, social impact, and risks such as job displacement and data privacy concerns. Through a mixed-methods approach, the study analyzes literature, policy frameworks, and real-world case studies to assess AI’s capacity to bridge infrastructural gaps and promote inclusive growth. The findings underscore the importance of collaborative governance among governments, industry, and academia to ensure responsible deployment. Ultimately, the paper advocates for inclusive strategies, public engagement, and ethical safeguards to harness AI’s full potential in shaping a more equitable and resilient global future.
